Biography


Mikayla Giovanna is a flutist pursuing her Masters degree in music performance with a concentration in flute at the University of Delaware. She has received her Bachelors in music performance with a concentration on flute under David DiGiacobbe and a music technology minor at The College of New Jersey. She also did a 4 year secondary study in piccolo. She is currently studying flute under Eileen Grycky.

Mikayla began her flute studies with Inna Leoni during her high school career. Aside from her private studies, she has played flute and piccolo in many of her high school's ensembles including; concert band, marching band, pit band, and pep band. She has played in many of ensembles including an off broadway production of Pippin' put on by the Creative Outlets youth community theater group at the La Mama Theater in New York, New York in the summer of 2018. Mikayla has played flute and piccolo in The College of New Jersey’s Orchestra and Wind Ensemble from 2021-2024. She is currently playing in the University of Delaware’s Wind Ensemble. Mikayla is also serving as a teaching assistant for the flute studio and woodwind methods classes.
